Poe San was 14 years old when she first noticed her symptoms. While playing soccer with her friends at school, she started to feel heart palpitations, difficulty breathing, and fatigue. Poe San has cardiac disease, but she has lived with her symptoms for the past five years because of difficulty accessing healthcare.
Poe San is now 19 years old and living in Thailand. She works at a factory where she chops, cleans, and peels squids and prawns to be shipped to Japan.
Poe San describes her disease as “very annoying and stressful.” She worries she is a burden to her parents. Our medical partner writes: “If she completely recovers from cardiac disease, she wants to support her family and send her little brother, who is in grade six, to higher education to become a teacher.”
Let’s raise the $1500 needed for an operation to restore Poe San’s quality of life!
