Melvin is a playful four-year-old boy from Kenya. He lives with his mother who is single after separating with his father. She does casual work of washing clothes for neighbors to sustain the family.
Melvin was diagnosed with cryptorchidism, a condition in which one or both of the testicles remains undescended. If left untreated, Melvin has an increased risk of developing hernias, testicular cancer, and fertility problems in the future.
Melvin will be receiving treatment from our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMHF). AMHF is requesting $459 to cover the total cost of his procedure and care.
Melvin’s’ mother said, “I am kindly requesting for support. I have been moving to and from different hospitals and was getting worried about my son. I hope he can get help and be treated so that he can grow up like other boys.”
