Usta is a 28 year old woman, living with her husband and two children in southwestern Uganda. Usta had been working at a local restaurant, but with the arrival of the Covid pandemic, she lost her job. She works helping on other people’s farms. Her husband is a motorcycle taxi driver, and together, they work hard to earn enough money to cover their daily expenses.
Usta is now pregnant and expecting her third child. Her doctors have recommended that Usta’s third child be delivered via a C-section to avoid complications.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is here to help Usta access the care that she needs. On June 9th, Usta will undergo a C-section at Karoli Lwanga Hospital in Nyakibale, and African Mission Healthcare Foundation is seeking $252 to fund her procedure, which will help Usta to deliver her baby safely.
Usta says: “I lay my hopes in your hands, and I do believe that once given your support, all will go on well.”
