Kreusna is a two-year-old toddler from rural Kampong Thom province in Cambodia. He lives with his parents, older brother, and grandmother. His father works as a rice farmer, while his mother is a home maker.
Kreusna has been living with a persistent weakness in his right hand since birth, a result of a nerve injury that occurred during his delivery. This condition has made it difficult for Kreusna to lift or to grasp objects. He was diagnosed with a brachial plexus injury, a condition that affects the nerve network that transmits signals from the spine to the shoulder, arm, and hand.
Kreusna traveled to Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre to receive treatment, the only center in Cambodia where this treatment is available. On July 9th, he will undergo a brachial plexus repair surgery, which will improve his arm function. Kreusna and his family are able to contribute $100 towards the cost of his treatment and need help raising $609 more to fund the procedure.
Kreusna’s father says: “I hope that Kreusna will be able to use his arm and play more freely with his brother and friends.
