Dalen is a lively three-year-old girl who lives in Takeo province with her parents and younger brother. Her father is a mechanic, and her mother works in a local clothes factory. She is a big fan of playing with her little brother and painting awesome pictures of animals. At home, she eats almost anything her mother makes, especially fried chicken or fish, and fruit juice. She has decided she would like to be a doctor when she grows up.
Dalen was born with a small mass on her right ear. It has continued to grow, and Dalen’s parents became concerned that it could be cancer and sought medical help. Dalen feels shy about it and her parents are afraid that other children will be unkind when she starts school and make fun of her.
Dalen and her mother traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On December 11th, surgeons at Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), will remove the mass. Now, Dalen’s family needs help to raise $273 to fund this procedure.
Dalen’s mother said: “We want her to be accepted by other children, and we hope that Dalen will get well after her operation and be a beauty.”
