Meet Ley, a 75-year-old woman from Cambodia. Ley enjoys listening to the radio and caring for her grandchildren in her spare time.
Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), shares that for the past five years Ley has had blurred vision because of mature cataracts in her eyes. Due to her poor eyesight, Ley stays at home and has a hard time doing daily activities on her own. Often, “her daughter has to care for her and sometimes misses school” which makes Ley feel sad – she desperately wants to regain her independence.
For $150, Ley will be able to have the cataract surgery she needs to improve her eyesight and prevent blindness. Ley says “she hopes the surgery will be a success so she can return to her daily life - like taking care of her grandchildren - and going places on her own.” Together, we can help Ley achieve this goal!
