Kim is a 75-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. He has seven children, ten grandchildren, and enjoys spending his free time at the pagoda.
Five months ago, Kim developed a cataract in his left eye, causing him blurry vision. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Kim learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for three and a half hours seeking treatment. On May 7, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his left eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
He says, “I hope that after my surgery, I am able to walk and see without difficulty and can go back to attend ceremonies at the pagoda.”
