Sarem is a 34-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. He lives with his wife, his parents, and two sons in Kampong Thom province. Sarem and his wife work long hours in the rice paddies to support the family. After he is done working, he enjoys teaching his boys how to play soccer.
In September 2023, Sarem got into a motorcycle accident and fractured his left tibia. Because Sarem could not afford treatment, he has been using a crutch to help him walk. He is in pain and unable to work.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), can help. On April 26th, Sarem will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will cost $483. The procedure will allow his fractured bone to heal properly, enabling him to walk again without pain.
Sarem shared, “I hope the doctors can fix my leg so I can support my family and walk without the crutches.”
