This smiley 73-year-old woman from Cambodia is Bun. She loves a good book, but her love of reading has been put on hold due to a mature cataract that has developed in her right eye and is preventing her from seeing clearly.
“Bun noticed her vision blurring about seven months ago, and she says it has been getting steadily worse. She can’t see anything clearly and it is very difficult for her to go anywhere unaccompanied,” explains our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre.
$150 will cover the cost of a cataract surgery, which will allow Bun to see clearly and become independent once again. “I hope that with the surgery I will be able to start reading again, as I dearly miss my novels,” says Bun.
