Jovel is a 16-month-old baby boy from Philippines. He is the youngest of ten children and lives with his parents and older siblings in a rented house. Jovel loves to play with his siblings and enjoys dancing when he hears music.
Recently, Jovel was diagnosed with malnutrition. On February 20, Jovel will begin to receive at-home treatment from our medical partner, International Care Ministries (ICM).
ICM’s home-based feeding program will provide nutrient-enriched food packs to Jovel to ensure he gets the additional food he needs to regain normal weight and achieve optimum physical and mental development. ICM is asking for $184 to fund Jovel’s food packs and medication. Additionally, ICM’s professional staff will educate Jovel’s mother on proper nutrition, sanitation, hygiene, and organic vegetable gardening.
“We want Jovel to recover from malnutrition and grow up healthy so that he can go to school in the future and finish his studies,” says Jovel’s mother.
