Chan Noeun is a construction worker from Cambodia. He has one daughter and likes to go fishing.
One year ago, he had a number of insects fly into his face while he was on his motorbike. Chan Noeun developed a traumatic cataract in each eye, causing him blurry vision and itchy eyes. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Chan Noeun learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for twelve hours seeking treatment. On January 8, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in each eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $398 procedure.
He says, “I hope I can help support my family.”
