Cheang is a 66-year-old man who lives in Kandal province in Cambodia with his wife and one of their daughters. At home, he enjoys taking care of his chickens and spending time with his grandchildren.
Cheang has been having back pain since 2015. He is treated at a nearby clinic for his diabetes, and his doctor suggested he seek care for his back as he is now unable to walk. He has been diagnosed with L4-L5 nerve root compression in his spine.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre can help. On June 19th, Cheang will have a laminectomy decompression spine surgery to relieve pressure on the spinal nerve roots caused by age-related changes in the spine. Cheang can contribute $100 but needs help to raise $903 more to support the cost of surgery and post-op care.
Cheang shared, “I hope I can walk again and help take care of my family.”
