Abebasye is an eight-year-old girl from Ethiopia. Once a playful girl, Abebasye has recently been experiencing painful and uncomfortable symptoms due to enlarged tonsils and adenoids.
The condition, which started three years ago, makes it difficult for Abebasye to breathe, causes loud snoring, and leads to restless nights. This has taken has taken a toll on her spirit, leaving her tired and irritable, as opposed to her playful self. If not treated, her symptoms will persist and possibly intensify over time.
Our medical partner, Saglan Wajee General Hospital, is requesting $700 to fund a tonsillectomy for Abebasye, which is scheduled to take place on August 21st. Surgeons will remove her tonsils, hopefully relieving Abebasye of her symptoms and helping her live more comfortably.
Her parents say: “The sound of her breathing keeps us awake with worry. Our greatest wish is to simply see her breathe without struggle and finally get the rest she needs.”
