Catherine is a 43-year-old woman and mother of four children from Uganda. She and her husband are teachers. Together, they work hard to provide for their family, meet their children's educational needs, and ensure that the household has its necessities. Their teaching careers are an important source of livelihood, although the demands of raising four children and meeting other family responsibilities require careful financial planning. Five years ago, Catherine began to experience troubling symptoms, including persistent pain in her lower abdomen. Initially, she hoped that the discomfort would resolve with treatment, but unfortunately, the pain has continued over the years. She particularly experiences it during physical exertion, and despite receiving treatment, she has not obtained lasting relief. She was diagnosed with appendicitis. She needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Catherine receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo surgery that will address her symptoms and prevent future health complications on November 3rd. This procedure will cost $297, and Catherine and her family need your support. Catherine says, "For the past five years, I have lived with persistent pain in my lower abdomen. I have visited several health facilities and tried different treatments. This condition has caused me a lot of worry because I am a mother of four children and a teacher who still has many responsibilities to fulfil. I am afraid that if the problem is not properly treated, my condition may worsen and affect my ability to care for my family and continue working. I sincerely appeal to kind-hearted donors to support me in accessing the medical care I need. Your assistance would give me renewed hope of overcoming this pain, regaining my health, and returning to my normal life. I would be deeply grateful for your kindness and generosity."

Ephraim is a 51-year-old man from Malawi. He is a father of five, and lives with his wife, three of his children, and three grandchildren. He depends on farming to provide for his family, growing maize and groundnuts. Although farming does not bring him much income, it usually provides enough food for the family and gives Ephraim a way to support those who depend on him. About a year ago, Ephraim started experiencing uncomfortable symptoms, prompting him to depend on medication and a catheter. Determined to find a lasting solution, he sought care from several hospitals but did not get the relief he needed. His family encouraged him to seek further treatment at our medical partner's care center, Nkhoma Mission Hospital. Upon examination, he was diagnosed with benign prostatic hyperplasia. Physicians at Nkhoma Hospital have determined that Ephraim should undergo a prostatectomy, a surgery to remove part or all of the prostate. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $530 to fund this procedure. The treatment is scheduled to take place at Nkhoma Hospital on September 9th and, once completed, it will hopefully improve Ephraim's quality of life. Ephraim said, "My hope is that this health problem will finally be resolved, so that I can return to living healthier again, and being there for my family."

Kyaw Soe is a 27-year-old man from Burma. Driven by conflict and the need for job opportunities, he moved to Thailand in November 2025. He now lives with his wife and brother-in-law in an employer-provided dormitory in a refugee village in Mae Sot District, Tak Province, Thailand. All three of them work at the same factory. In June 2025, Kyaw Soe began to experience troubling symptoms, including snoring, difficulty breathing, and difficulty smelling. His nose appears to be blocked, causing discomfort on the right side of his face. Doctors want to perform a sinus endoscopic surgery to remove any blockages in the sinuses and improve airflow through the nose. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is requesting $1,500 for this procedure. The treatment is scheduled to take place on August 19th at our medical partner's care center, Mae Sot General Hospital. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully alleviate his symptoms. Kyaw Soe was grateful to learn about BCMF. He said, "I really want to receive the surgery and get rid of this condition as soon as possible. But if there is no support from you, I didn’t want to seek treatment anymore. It is too much for us. I don’t want to put such a burden on my wife.
