Clarissa is a 9-year-old student from Kenya, and the last born in her family of two children. She enjoys reading, watching TV, and playing. She is a class 3 pupil and very bright. The family hails from Kiserian, in Kajiado County. Her father is a mechanic while her mother recently travelled to Saudi Arabia to look for work.
Clarissa has clubfoot of both feet. Clubfoot is a condition in which the foot is twisted out of shape. This causes difficulty walking and even wearing shoes.
Fortunately, Clarissa traveled to visit our medical partner’s care center, AIC Cure International Hospital. There, surgeons will perform clubfoot repair surgery on September 14th. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $1,286 to fund Clarissa’s clubfoot repair. After treatment, she will be able to walk easily.
“We are appealing for support from well-wishers so that our daughter can walk well like other girls.” Simon, Clarissa’s father told us.
