Teang is a 70-year-old man from Cambodia. He has four daughters, one son, and ten grandchildren. Every day he goes to the market with his wife to sell produce. Teang likes to listen to the news and music on the radio.
Two months, Teang developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him blurry vision making it hard to walk and work. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Teang learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for three and a half hours seeking treatment. On April 20th, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery, and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
“I hope that I will see everything better so I can continue selling my groceries at the market and I will be able to help my wife do some work at home,” Teang said.
