Kruy is an 82-year-old grandfather from Cambodia with two sons, four daughters, and 12 grandchildren. Kruy enjoys listening to the monks pray on the radio.
About a year ago Kruy developed a cataract in each eye. “This makes him partially blind and he experiences irritation. He can’t see anything clearly, go walking anywhere on his own, or do work by himself,” explains his medical team.
$225 will fund cataract surgery, which will remove the cloudy lenses from both of Kruy’s eyes and replace them with artificial lenses. Funding for his surgery includes post-operative care, and after the surgery, he will be able to see clearly again.
Let’s help make this possible!

Kruy received vision-restoring surgery.
After a year of blurred vision, irritation, and tearing due to the development of mature cataracts, Kruy has successfully undergone surgery to remove the cataracts in each eye and restore his vision.
During the short procedure, doctors removed his clouded lenses and replaced them with clear, synthetic implants. The surgery went very well, and he is expected to make a full recovery.
Kruy is excited that he can see everything clearly again. With his restored vision, he can easily go walking and do any work on his own, without the help of others. He can once again return to an independent life of listening to the monks pray and helping with his twelve grandchildren.
