Chhen is a teenager from Cambodia. He likes learning about history and wants to be a soldier when he is older. He likes to play football and video games with his friends.
Thirteen years ago, Chhen had an ear infection. This infection caused the tympanic membrane, or the ear drum, in his left ear to perforate. For this reason, Chhen experiences tinnitus and itchiness. He cannot hear well.
Chhen traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On September 6, he will undergo a myringoplasty procedure in his left ear. During this procedure, surgeons will close the perforation. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $423 to fund this procedure. This covers medications, supplies, and inpatient care.
His mother says, “I am worried about my son’s hearing and hope he can improve after the operation.”
