Sriev is a 69-year-old rice and crop farmer from Cambodia. He has four daughters and three grandchildren. An avid sports fan, Sriev finds great joy in watching boxing and soccer on TV in his free time.
About a year ago, Sriev developed a cataract in both of his eyes. This has made his vision increasingly blurry over the past few months, and it is now hard for him to see things clearly, recognize faces, work, and go anywhere on his own. Without treatment, Sriev’s eyesight could continue to worsen.
Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $398 to fund a phaco procedure and an intraocular lens implant for each of Sriev’s eyes. The surgery is scheduled to take place on July 18 and, once completed, will hopefully restore Sriev’s vision to its former state and allow him to live more comfortably.
