Isaac is a one-year-old baby boy and the youngest child in a family of four children. He is already very curious and interested in learning. Isaac’s parents have built a small house in a space they were given by the family members. His father does whatever work he comes across to put food on the family’s table, but since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, work has been difficult to come by. To supplement the family’s earnings, Isaac’s mother does small scale farming in their small garden and uses the farm produce to feed her family.
For seven months, Isaac has had a right inguinal hernia. If not treated, the hernia could become blocked and result in intestinal tissue damage or death.
Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), can help. On May 6th, Isaac will undergo hernia repair surgery at AMH’s care center. Now, AMH is requesting $444 to fund Isaac’s surgery. Once complete, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably.
Isaac’s mother shared, “as a family, we are not financially stable. All the money that we get is all budgeted for. For Isaac, we are getting more worried as days go by that he may not get treated. We are requesting for any financial help we might get for our son to get treated.”
