Jackline is a farmer and a mother of 7 children. Two of Jackline’s children are employed while the others are still in school. Jackine enjoys farming, but hopes to open a retail shop in the future. Jackline’s husband is a farmer and their family lives in a three-room mud-built house. Jackline enjoys the company of her four grandchildren.
Five years ago, Jackline began to experience troubling symptoms, including anterior neck swelling and breathing difficulties. Jackline was diagnosed with nodular goitre and needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from worsening.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMHF), is helping Jackline receive treatment. Jackline is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on September 6th at our medical partner’s care center. Surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. AMHF is helping Jackline raise $252 to cover the cost of this procedure.
Jackline shared, “When I am operated on, I hope to regain my health and be able to farm in good health to sustain and support my family.”
