Donnalyn is a hardworking woman from the Philippines. She works as a factory worker and currently resides with her partner. Even though her partner is also working, their combined income is only enough for their household expenses. One year ago, Donnalyn began to experience troubling symptoms, including excruciating stomach pain and frequent acid reflux. She was diagnosed with gallstones and kidney stones. She could not afford the surgery and treatment at the local hospital. Donnalyn has been advised to undergo a cholecystectomy, the surgical removal of the gallbladder. If left untreated, her symptoms will continue to worsen and put him at risk for further health complications in the future. After seeking treatment through our medical partner, World Surgical Foundation Philippines (WSFP), Donnalyn is scheduled to undergo a cholecystectomy on March 9th. A portion of the cost of the procedure is being supported by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation and WSFP is raising the remaining $1,128 to cover the cost of Donnalyn's surgery and care. Donalynn shared: "I have not availed of the free surgery yet but I am already very grateful to everyone who will help me. I will never be able to avail the needed surgery even if I borrow money from everyone I know, so I am truly grateful."

Rossette is a 35-year-old housewife from Uganda. Her husband works in a retail shop and supports his wife as she has not been able to find a job. During her free time, Rossette enjoys visiting her friends. Rossette is currently expecting her first child. She received antenatal care at Rushoroza Hospital, where her doctors recommended that she deliver via a Cesarean section because of breech presentation at term. This way, doctors can ensure the safety of both mother and child. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Rossette undergo a C-Section on March 1st. This procedure will cost $214 and Rossette needs your support. Rosette says, “I hope I will have a successful surgery with a positive outcome. After complete recovery, I will continue to search for a job. May God bless you.”

Phalla lives with her five siblings, their aunt and cousin in Kampong Thum province in Cambodia. Her relatives work as merchants in the local market and one sibling is a teacher. In March 2021, Phalla fell while walking down the stairs of her home and fractured her right hip. She was not able to seek immediate treatment due to COVID-19 lockdowns and her fear of going to the hospital. Eventually, Phalla was treated at a nearby hospital, but the fracture has still not healed. She experiences constant pain and relies on a wheelchair. Phalla and her younger brother travelled for six hours to seek help from our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre. On April 24th, surgeons at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre will perform a hemiarthroplasty surgery on her right hip. This will help Phalla regain her mobility and to live without pain. Phalla and her family are able to contribute $100 but need help raising $444 to fund the procedure and post-op care. Phalla hopes surgery will eliminate her pain and enable her to walk again. She would like to start looking for work once she has healed.
