Jonas is a 14-year-old boy from Uganda. He likes to help his mother with chores, like digging in the garden and fetching firewood. In his free time, he listens to the news and music on the radio while weaving baskets and mats.
When Jonas was seven years old, he developed a hernia. It has kept him from helping his mother with chores and playing soccer with his friends.
Our medical partner, The Kellermann Foundation, is requesting $229 to cover the total cost of Jonas’s surgery. He is scheduled to undergo hernia repair surgery on June 3 and is excited to resume his favorite activities after he is fully recovered.
“I give all my thanks to the donors,” says Jonas’s mother. “Because they are people with the hearts of helping. May God bless them.”

Jonas underwent hernia repair surgery.
Jonas had a very painful bilateral hernia that was causing him so much pain. Now it has been repaired. After he completely recovers, he will be able to do all the things he has been unable to do, such as playing soccer and helping his mother grow food for the younger children at home.
“Thank you to all the donors for supporting my son’s treatment,” says Mabel, his mother. “With his helping at home, we hope to earn enough to pay for school fees. May God bless you.”
