Andrew is a 20-year-old welder. He is the oldest child in his family and shared that he took over his father’s responsibilities when he passed away. Andrew completed school up until high school before taking work at a farm, where his employer was so impressed with his work they helped train him as a welder. Through his work in welding, Andrew is able to earn extra income to meet his family’s needs.
For some time now, Andrew has had an umbilical hernia. As a result, he is in pain and unable to lift heavy loads, which is often required of him at work. He visited a local hospital and was referred to our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), for help accessing the treatment he needs.
Fortunately, AMH can help Andrew finally heal. On April 5th, he will undergo hernia repair surgery at the care center to help him to live more comfortably and confidently once he recovers. AMH is requesting $230 to fund Andrew’s surgery.
Andrew shared, “I hope to get better and continue hustling to provide for my family.”
