SreyPov is a skilled 43-year-old weaver specializing in making silk and cotton skirts. She lives with her husband, who works in construction, and her three children in Phnom Penh province. Her 19-year-old daughter works in a restaurant, her 15-year-old daughter is in school, and her 9-year-old son is also in school. SreyPov diligently weaves traditional skirts at home, contributing to the local businesses, and takes pride in maintaining her household's cleanliness. In September 2023, SreyPov slipped on a wet sidewalk, stretched out her right arm, and dislocated her elbow when she fell. Given her family's financial constraints, SreyPov sought the assistance of a Khmer traditional healer. However, despite her efforts, her arm remains swollen, causing persistent pain. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On January 4th, SreyPov will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will cost $483. This surgery will allow her to resume her traditional weaving and alleviate her pain. SreyPov said: "I hope after surgery I can make cloth again and will not be in pain any longer."

Aymy is a loving housewife and mother of two children. A year ago, Aymy began to experience severe pain and frequent acid reflux. During these bouts of pain, her husband misses work to stay home and care for their children. Aymy was found to have gallstones and was advised to undergo a cholecystectomy, the surgical removal of the gallbladder. If left untreated, her symptoms will continue to worsen and put her at risk for further health complications. Aymy is scheduled to undergo the procedure on March 5th with our medical partner, World Surgical Foundation Philippines (WSFP). The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation is supporting a portion of the cost of the procedure and WSFP is raising the remaining $1128 to cover the cost of Aymy's surgery and care. Aymy says, "I am grateful to everyone who will donate for my surgery. We cannot afford the treatment, especially when the necessities are costly. Thank you for making this possible for me and my family."

Mao is a 67-year-old grandmother from Cambodia. She has four daughters, two sons, and 15 grandchildren who all help in caring for, and supporting her. Mao has been a widow since her husband passed away 15 years ago, and she currently lives with her youngest daughter, whose husband drives a taxi. Previously, Mao worked in a brick factory, but she now helps her daughter in caring for their home. In the evenings, she likes to listen to the monks pray on the radio or visit the local pagoda. About a year ago, Mao developed a cataract in her left eye, which is a clouding of the lens of the eye, like looking through a frosty or fogged-up window. The condition has resulted in tearing and blurry vision in the affected eye, and Mao no longer ventures out of the house alone, as she is unable to see clearly, and is worried about tripping and falling from the traditional stilt house steps near the river. When Mao learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for two and a half hours seeking treatment. On April 30th, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Mao is able to contribute $100 towards the cost of her treatment and need help raising $153 more to fund the procedure. Mao says: "I hope after surgery my eye can see better to take care of my grandchildren and care for my daughter's home."
