Mon is a 51-year-old housewife from Cambodia. She has five children and lives with her husband, her youngest son, daughter-in-law, and 8-month-old grandson. Her youngest son and daughter-in-law both work in a nearby garment factory, while she and her husband take care of their grandson at home. At home, she enjoys cooking and playing with her grandson.
Three months ago, while Mon was trying to pick up some vegetables for dinner, she slipped and fell, causing a fracture in her left arm. She visited a traditional healer in her village, where she used oils and a splint for three weeks, but her condition did not improve. She is experiencing pain, swelling, wrist stiffness, and limited function in her left arm.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, can help. On January 15th, Mon will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will cost $458. This treatment will help relieve her pain and improve the function of her arm.
Mon shared, “I hope I can heal my arm so I can take care of my grandson without any problems.”
