Ny is a 66-year-old widow from Kratie province. She has one son, two daughters, and five grandchildren. Now retired, she spent most of her life working as a cleaner in the Kratie provincial hall and government offices. Her husband recently passed away from kidney failure, and Ny has since moved in with her oldest daughter, who is a rice farmer.
Around two years ago, Ny developed a cataract in her right eye. Her symptoms include itchiness, tearing, and blurry vision. Because her vision is impaired, she is reluctant to go out on her own.
Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is here to help. On September 6th, doctors at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre will perform small incision cataract surgery, and implant an intraocular lens in Ny’s right eye. She should regain full vision after she has recovered from the surgery. Now Ny needs your help to fund this $253 procedure.
Ny shared: “I want to be able to see so I can visit with my relatives and enjoy my life.”
