Vanglong is a 26-year-old welder from Cambodia. He has five siblings and lives with his older brother, sister-in-law, and niece in Kampong Cham province. He works as a welder with his older brother, while his sister-in-law works in a clothing factory. In his free time, he enjoys going out with his friends for iced coffee or Cambodian BBQ. Vanglong noticed a mass on his right shoulder, which appeared about six years ago, but it has grown bigger over the past year. He experiences pain when the mass is touched, and it is difficult for him to raise his shoulder while working or changing clothes. Vanglong traveled to our medical partner's care center to receive treatment. On September 4th, surgeons at Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), will remove the mass. Vanglong is able to contribute $50 towards the cost of his treatment and needs help raising $223 more to fund the procedure. Vanglong says: "I hope the mass can be removed so that I can move my arm more easily and won't worry about future complications."

Vin is a 25-year-old cleaner from Cambodia. He lives with his parents and two siblings in Banteay Meanchey province. His parents work as delivery drivers. Vin works in a casino as a cleaner, but after his accident, he has been unable to work. Vin enjoys watching Cambodian soccer and chatting with his friends in the village. Three months ago, Vin was in a motor vehicle accident where his motorbike collided with a car. As a result, he suffered multiple injuries including fractures of his arms and legs. He was taken to a nearby clinic and treated for the injuries. Vin was diagnosed with a brachial plexus injury on his right side. The brachial plexus is a nerve network that transmits signals from the spine to the shoulder, arm, and hand. Injuries to this nerve network can result in loss of function and sensation. Currently, Vin is experiencing difficulty moving his right upper limb, and he has no sensation below the right elbow. Additionally, he experiences chronic pain in his right hand. Vin traveled to our medical partner's care center, Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre, to receive treatment. This is the only center in the whole country where this treatment is available. On July 9th, he will undergo a brachial plexus repair surgery. After recovery, he will be able to use his hand and arm again. Vin's family is able to contribute $100 but needs help to raise $609 more to fund this procedure. After surgery, he hopes to see improvement in his arm function so that he can return to work and help support his family.

Saros is a 61-year-old woman from Cambodia. She is married with three daughters, one son, and six grandchildren. Her husband drives a motor taxi. Her daughters work in a garment factory while her son works in delivery. In her free time, she enjoys watching soccer and comedy movies. About three months ago, the retina of Saros's left eye detached, causing flashes of light and darkening of her vision, loss of side vision, and headache. She has difficulty seeing things, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, will help Saros receive treatment. On October 8th, eye surgeons will perform a retinal detachment repair procedure in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Saros's family has raised $300 and now she needs help to fund the remaining $349 to cover the cost of the procedure. Saros added, "I hope this operation will help me see again so I can take care of my grandchildren without any worries."
