An industrious basket weaver, 30-year-old Jackline from Kenya is finally pregnant after years of trying! Jackline and her husband, a farmer who works additional odd jobs when necessary, have been supporting her two brothers after her parents passed way so that they can finish their education.
Jackline was born into a family of seven children, of which three died because of unsafe delivery. “She does not want to risk the life of her only forthcoming baby by delivering at home,” our medical partner, Lwala Community Alliance, shares. “Despite the fact that this responsible family cannot afford the treatment cost, Jackline’s brothers and husband are holding on positively that her delivery will be safe and successful.”
$290 from Watsi donors will ensure that Jackline and her baby are safe and healthy before, during, and after the delivery.
“I hope to deliver safely,” Jackline says. “I will ensure that my baby gets access to quality health services should there be any complication and that better education will be provided for her or him to revitalize their future.”
