Prisca is a 51-year-old woman who hails from Ndeiya in Kiambu County. She was married but separated from her husband and now lives at her parents’ home. She is the firstborn in a family of three siblings. She has one child.
Prisca used to work as a secretary, but once her contract ended, the employer did not renew it, so she is now assisting her mother on their small farm.
She first experienced symptoms in August 2022 and was diagnosed with a large fibroid. To heal Prisca needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $718 to fund Prisca’s surgery. On September 20, she will undergo surgery at our medical partner’s care center. Once recovered, Prisca will be able to resume her daily activities free of pain.
“I would greatly appreciate it if I could be sponsored to have this treatment. My child needs my presence,” said Prisca.
