Keo is a 78-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. He has four children, fifteen grandchildren, and enjoys listening to the news on the radio.
Three years ago, Keo developed a cataract in each eye, causing him blurry vision, tearing, and photophobia. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Keo learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for five and a half hours seeking treatment. On January 13th, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in each eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $425 procedure.
He shared, “I hope that I am able to look after my grandchildren and can do everything by myself again.”
