Steven is a two-year-old boy from the Philippines who lives with his family in a house made of bamboo and light materials. His father is a farmer while his mother looks after him at home.
Steven is very thin and only likes to eat junk food, which has caused him to become malnourished. In order to treat his malnutrition, our medical partner, International Care Ministries (ICM), is requesting $173 to fund Steven’s enrollment in a home-based malnutrition intervention program. That amount will cover Steven’s enrollment in the program, necessary medication, nutrient supplements, and the help of a nutritionist, who will advise Steven’s mother on how to help her son eat a healthy, wholesome, and affordable diet.
“I wish that Steven will gain weight and recover from malnutrition. I also hope that I will be able to learn more strategies on how to stop him from eating junk food with the help of ICM staff and as I continue attending the session and listening to all the health topics,” says Steven’s mother.
