Chanthara is a young man from Cambodia. He is a rice farmer. He has six sisters and two brothers. He likes to play soccer with friends and tend to his animals on the farm. Three months ago, he was in a motor vehicle accident that dislocated his right hip. Ever since, he has been in chronic pain and has difficulty walking. He is unable to walk and work, so he cannot support his family. He needs an open reduction procedure of his right hip to be able to walk freely again without pain and return to work. Surgery is scheduled for June 7 and will cost $390. He says, "I hope after the operation I can walk without pain and go back home to work on the farm."

Katusabe is a young student from Uganda. She is in nursery school, and she is studying hard because she wants to become a teacher in the future. Her parents are farmers. Since the beginning of this year, Katusabe has had an inguinal hernia. If not treated, the hernia may cause intestinal tissue damage and blocking. Fortunately, on May 16, she will undergo hernia repair surgery at our medical partner's care center. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $249 to fund Katusabe's surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow her to live more comfortably. Her mother says, "After surgery I will go for a thanks giving mass in church to thanks God for my second chance.’’

Chikaima is a farmer from Malawi. He lives with his wife and their six children. Chikaima spends his days caring for his land and his goats, and in his free time he likes to attend his local church and worship with his family and friends. Since July 2017, Chikaima has been experiencing pain and urinary difficulty. These symptoms are caused by an enlarged prostate, a condition called benign prostatic hyperplasia. He needs to undergo a prostate resection surgery, a procedure in which surgeons will remove part of the enlarged gland. Our medical partner, World Altering Medicine, is requesting $733 to fund Chikaima's surgery. On June 5, he will undergo prostate surgery at Nkhoma Hospital, our medical partner's care center. The requested money pays for supplies, medications, and two weeks of hospital stay. Chikaima was thrilled to find out his surgery would be funded, and he is looking forward to working again and no longer suffering with the symptoms associated with his condition. He says, "Thank you, Watsi."
