Slancher is a toddler from Haiti. He lives in Port-au-Prince with his parents and older sister. His parents are both teachers.
He was born with a cardiac condition called pulmonic stenosis, in which one of the four valves of his heart is too narrow, causing blood to back up into the heart and leading to heart failure.
Slancher needs to undergo an interventional heart catheterization. During the procedure, a balloon will be inserted into this valve on the tip of a catheter, and used to stretch the valve open to a near-normal size. This procedure is scheduled for September 29, and our medical partner is requesting $1,500 to help fund it.
His mother says, “I am very thankful to everyone who is making this possible for my son!”
