“I feel overwhelmed by Victoria’s condition. I am saddened whenever I see her in pain. I pray that she will get treated as soon as possible and be able to get back to school,” says Victoria’s mother.
This is Victoria, a four-year-old girl from Kenya who has a brain tumor. “Victoria suffers persistent headaches coupled with an inability to walk on her own,” reports our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMHF). “Victoria has not been able to attend school this term because of illness. If not treated, it may affect her education and may eventually lead to death,” continues AMHF.
Victoria is the second of four children. Her parents run a small business selling household merchandise to support the family. “Unfortunately, they make little income from the business and are unable to support Victoria’s surgical care,” says AMHF.
For $1260, we can fund a craniotomy to treat Victoria’s brain tumor. AMHF reports, “Victoria’s surgery will help restore her health and she will be able to walk and go back to school.”
