Choeurn is a 70-year-old man from Cambodia who has one son, five daughters, and 20 grandchildren. In his free time, he likes to watch news and boxing on TV and listen to monks pray on the radio.
Last year, Choeurn developed a cataract in each eye, which has caused him to experience blurred vision. It is difficult for him to see things clearly, recognize faces, work, or go anywhere on his own.
Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $398 to fund small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant for each of Choeurn’s eyes. The surgery is scheduled to take place on July 18 and, once completed, will hopefully restore Choeurn’s vision to its former state and allow him to live more comfortably.

Choeurn underwent cataract treatment.
His eye cataract was successfully removed from his left eye, and clear vision has been restored. Following the operation, he was given eye drops to reduce inflammation and prevent infection. He will return soon for the same surgery on his right eye.
Choeurn says, “I feel very happy that I can see everything clearly again so that I can work at home like clean and watch TV. I can also walk anywhere outside by myself now.”
