Tugumisirize underwent a mass removal from her leg.

Tugumisirize had a mass excision surgery to treat the lipoma on her right thigh. Her surgery was successful and she reports a big improvement in her life already. Tugumisirize is optimistic that she’ll now be able to comfortably resume her work as a school cleaner. She’s hopeful she’ll live a better quality of life after healing.

Tugumisirize shared, “I’m grateful and thankful to the almighty God for getting the WATSI program into existence; otherwise the poor wouldn’t be able to access surgical services. May you live long to help many other needy people in the whole world.”

Tugumisirize is a cleaner from Uganda and a mother of 6 children, with her last born 8 years old and in a first grade student. Tugumisirize works at St Mary’s College Rushoroza and her husband is a part-time driver at Rushoroza Parish. They own a three-room semi-permanent house for shelter and work hard to make ends meet for their family.

For the last eight years, Tugumisirize has experienced discomfort from a mass that is increasing in size on her right thigh. Doctors recommend that the mass be removed to finally relieve her condition and limit future risks.

Tugumisirize traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On January 13th, surgeons will remove the mass. Now, Tugumisirize needs help to raise $145 to fund this procedure.

Tugumisirize shared, “It has been difficult working because of this condition.”
