This is Sun, a 68-year old banana and mango farmer and the grandmother of ten in Cambodia. Sun also has four daughters of her own.
Our partners in the area, Children’s Surgical Centre(CSC) report, “Sun has a mature cataract in her left eye, which is developed enough to give her partial blindness. She can’t go to the pagoda or support her family because she can’t go anywhere alone.”
For $150, we can fund a procedure to remove Sun’s cataract, which is expected to restore vision in her left eye. “When her eye is fixed, Sun looks forward to going to the pagoda when she wants, working on her banana and mango farm, and visiting her daughter,” says CSC. Let’s help Sun get her sight back!

“Sun is so thankful to have her vision and independence back,” says our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC). “She can again see clearly from her left eye, meaning she can go back to farming and seeing her grandchildren.”
CSC adds, “Sun says she is looking forward to returning to her farm to plant bananas and mangoes and will visit her daughter in a far away province when she gets free time.”
