Savy is a six-year-old boy and a student in first grade. He lives with his parents, who work as farmers. He is the third child of five children in his family and has four brothers. When he grows up, he would like to be a policeman. When he is not in school, he enjoys eating his favorite foods: fried chicken and soup!
Earlier this month, Savy injured his right thumb on a woodcutting machine. The tip of his thumb was cut off, and his parents took him to a local health center for wound dressing. Unfortunately, the wound has not healed and the bone is exposed. The wound is infected and Savy is in pain.
Fortunately, our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), is helping Savy to receive treatment. He and his family traveled for five hours for examination and treatment. On November 10th, surgeons at CSC will perform an amputation, debridement, and small flap on Savy’s right thumb so he can use his hand again. Now, Savy’s family needs help raising $446 to cover the cost of surgery, medication, supplies and inpatient care.
Savy’s father shared, “I hope after surgery, his pain will stop and he will get better. It’s important for him to go to school and he feels poorly every day and doesn’t want to go.”
