Ra Ti is a 10-year-old student from Cambodia. He lives in a small community in Kandal province with his parents, who both work in a garment factory, and his four-year-old younger brother. Ra Ti enjoys studying mathematics, and he dreams of becoming a doctor. In his free time, he likes playing hide-and-seek with his friends in the village. He enjoys eating fried eggs.
Ra Ti was born with bilateral preauricular skin pits. Both sides were previously operated on. The left side healed well; however, the right side has continued to experience recurrent infections even after multiple procedures at different hospitals. Over a month ago, the right side became infected again, causing pain. The infection and pain have made it difficult for him to concentrate on schoolwork and to participate comfortably in daily activities.
Ra Ti traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On January 20th, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), will remove the mass. Now, Ra Ti needs help to raise $344 to fund this procedure.
Ra Ti’s aunt said, “After the surgery, I hope that my nephew will no longer have pain, so he can focus more on his studies.”
