Som is mother of six from Cambodia. She has three daughters and three sons. She likes to watch TV and spend time with her family.
Two years ago, Som developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her blurred vision, itchiness, and a clouded lens. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Som learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for two and a half hours seeking treatment. On February 1, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
She says, “I hope I can see everything more clearly so I can learn about Buddha more.”
