Davy is a senior in high school from Cambodia. She has five siblings. She just took her exit exams for high school. Her dream is to get into university in Phnom Penh.
Davy’s condition is the result of a bicycle accident she had in 2013. The bicycle accident resulted in a knee deformity and caused Davy a lot of pain, making walking and sleeping difficult. Davy is now walking normally, but the leftover hardware in Davy’s knee from the previous surgery is causing discomfort and makes a cracking sound.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, can help. On September 1, Davy will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will cost $214.
Davy has already improved so much since her initial surgery in 2013. Removing the hardware will eliminate the pain and discomfort she’s experiencing.
She says, “I want to walk without pain.”
