Sinyati was recently in a terrible accident. Her shawl caught fire, and she endured bad burns on her right knee. Ever since the injury, she’s been unable to walk properly.

Sinyati received contracture release surgery to treat burns on her right knee.
Sinyati’s reconstructive operation went well and her doctors expect her to recover nicely. Her leg will be in a splint for a few more days while her wound continues to heal. At her follow-up appointment, Sinyati was already attempting to walk without her splint on as she is excited about walking like the other children in her village.
