Vuth is a 71-year-old mint farmer. He’s married and lives with his wife who is also a mint farmer. They have two daughters, three sons, and many grandchildren. Because he is elderly and has poor vision, he doesn’t go to the field to plant mint anymore. When he is at home, he likes to listen to the news on the radio.
Four years ago, Vuth developed a cataract in his right eye causing him sensitivity to light, blurry vision, and occasional pain. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Vuth learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for two and a half hours seeking treatment. On September 15th, doctors will perform phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
Vuth shared, “I hope I can see clearly again after surgery. I want to help my wife plant mint for sale to support our living.”
