Asiimwe is a farmer and father of four children, with his youngest now three years old. His wife is also a farmer and together they own a three-room semi-permanent house for shelter for their family.
For the last four years, Asiimwe has experienced severe pain and discomfort and has been diagnosed with an umbilical hernia, a condition in which part of an organ is displaced and protrudes.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $170 to fund Asiimwe’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably.
Asiimwe says, “I hope to be considered for surgery because I am in severe pain.”

Asiimwe underwent hernia repair surgery.
Asiimwe underwent herniorrhaphy surgery to treat his umbilical hernia. The surgery was successful and he reports a big improvement in his life. Asiimwe plans to get back to farming more comfortably and will be able to do his other day-to-day duties without difficulty. He’s now home and doctors expect a full recovery.
