Vanna is a 64-year-old security guard from Cambodia. He is married with four children, and ten grandchildren. He likes to take photos on his phone and listen to the radio news.
One year ago, Vanna developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him blurred vision, tearing, and photophobia. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Vanna learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, he traveled for one hour seeking treatment. On June 3rd, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
Vanna's son said, "I hope that after surgery my father can see everything better and that he can go back to work. My siblings and I are very worried about his sight, but we are glad that he can finally get help."
