Srim is a 46-year-old farmer from Cambodia. He has one daughter and one son, and both Srim and his wife are farmers. These days, Srim has not been able to work on the farm because of his declining vision. However, he is still able to plant vegetables around his home. In his free time, he enjoys watching Khmer boxing on TV with his neighbor.
Three years ago, Srim developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him to experience photophobia, blurry vision, and tearing. As a result, he has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Srim learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), he traveled for three hours with his wife seeking treatment. On March 8th, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, Srim needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
Srim shared with us, "I hope after surgery I can see well so I go back to planting rice and earn money to support my family."
