Vuth is an 11-year-old student from Cambodia. He's in 7th grade and has two sisters and two brothers. Vuth's favorite subjects in school are reading and math. Vuth's father is a teacher and his mother is a farmer. At home, he helps his parents do housework and looks after his youngest sister. In his free time, Vuth likes to play football with his friends.
Three years ago, Vuth developed glaucoma in his right eye. Glaucoma refers to damage to the eye's optic nerve, or the nerve connecting the eye to the brain. This causes him blurry vision, headaches, pain, and sensitivity to light. It is difficult for him to focus in school and he needs to wear sunglasses whenever he is outside.
Vuth traveled to our medical partner's care center to receive treatment. On February 15th, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), will perform a glaucoma procedure to improve his vision. Now, Vuth needs help to raise $277 to fund this procedure.
Vuth shared, "I hope my eye improves so I can attend school without difficulty."
