Anita is a one-week-old baby girl. She is the only child of her parents, both of whom are farmers. An avalanche in their area in December 2023 prevented them from farming and exhausted their savings. As they work to rebuild their livelihood, they are seeking support to help cover the costs of their daughter’s treatment.
Anita has clubfoot on both of her feet. Clubfoot is a condition in which the foot is twisted out of shape. The tissues connecting the muscle to the bones are shorter than usual and this causes difficulty walking and even wearing shoes.
Fortunately, Anita's family traveled to visit our medical partner's care center, Kafika House. Surgeons will begin clubfoot treatment on November 29th. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $341 to fund Anita's clubfoot repair. After treatment, she will be able to walk easily and wear shoes when she grows up.
Anita's mother says, "I hope my daughter's legs will be fine because this might affect her future if she does not get treatment."
