Olive is a businesswoman from Kenya. She is married and a mother of four kids. Three months ago, Olive began to experience troubling symptoms, including swelling on her neck. She has been diagnosed with a multinodular goiter. She needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Olive receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on April 15 at our medical partner's care center. Surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. This procedure will cost $625, and she and her family need help raising money. “I hope Watsi will support me so that I can get well and continue tending for my family,” said Olive.

Korn is a 74-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. She has eleven grandchildren and enjoys listening to the monks on the radio. One year ago, Korn developed a cataract in each eye, causing her blurred vision, tearing, and cloudy vision. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside. When Korn learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for one and a half hours seeking treatment. On March 13, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in each eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $398 procedure. She says, "I hope that after my surgery, I will be able to see everything clearly and can recognize faces and go back to my work."

Tha Mee is a 19-year-old wife and mother from Burma. She lives with her husband, her son, her parents, two brothers and a sister. In her free time Tha Mee likes to cook and wash. Tha Mee has a gallstone and suffers from pain in her back and waist. She has been advised to undergo a biliary obstruction repair, a procedure to repair the blockage of the bile ducts, which carry bile from the liver to the gallbladder. If left untreated, Tha Mee's symptoms will continue to worsen and put her at risk for further health complications in the future. After seeking treatment through our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund (BCMF), Tha Mee is scheduled to undergo her biliary obstruction repair on April 4. BCMF is requesting $1,500 to cover the total cost of Tha Mee's procedure and care. Tha Mee says, “If I finish surgery and feel better, I will go back home and take care of my son.”
